Sharan Prakash Patil Assigned Yadgir District In-Charge Responsibility
YADGIR, August 2026: Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil has been assigned responsibility as the Yadgir district in-charge minister following the state’s Cabinet expansion.
The allocation was made after the Karnataka government completed its much-awaited ministerial expansion. Under the new arrangement, ministers were assigned responsibility for different districts across the state. Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil was assigned Yadgir.
The district in-charge minister plays an important coordinating role between the state government and district administration. The position involves reviewing development programmes, monitoring implementation of government schemes and taking up important district-level issues with the state government.
For Yadgir, the appointment is particularly significant because the district continues to have a number of development priorities involving healthcare, education, roads, agriculture, irrigation and industrial growth.
Dr. Patil’s role also gained visibility during his August 5 visit to the Kadechur-Badiyal Industrial Area following the serious chemical-leak incident at a pharmaceutical facility. During that visit, he was accompanied by local political leaders including Gurmitkal MLA Sharanagowda Kandkur and former minister Baburao Chinchansur.
