Property Dispute Turns Fatal in Yadgir: Man Allegedly Arranges Father’s Murder YADGIR, March 2026: A property dispute in Gonal village of Wadagera taluk allegedly resulted in the murder of a 76-year-old man, with police accusing his son of arranging a contract killing. The deceased, identified as Hampanna Sajjan, was reportedly living alone at his farmhouse near Gonal village. According to police, Hampanna had distributed part of his land among his three sons while retaining approximately 12 acres for himself. Investigators said tensions developed after Hampanna reportedly sold six acres of land. Police alleged that his son, Narasareddy Sajjan, was unhappy about the property situation and subsequently arranged for others to carry out the killing. The murder reportedly took place on March 11, 2026. Police said the elderly man was attacked while he was alone at his farmhouse. Following the incident, his son allegedly approached Wadagera police and lodged a complaint while claiming to have no knowledge of the crime. Investigators reportedly became suspicious during the course of the inquiry. According to the police account reported by The Times of India, the investigation led officers to the alleged involvement of Narasareddy and four men from Rachamarri village in neighbouring Telangana. Police subsequently arrested Narasareddy and sent him to judicial custody. The case illustrates how disputes over land and inheritance can escalate into serious criminal incidents, particularly when family disagreements remain unresolved. Property disputes are a recurring source of conflict in many rural communities, making timely mediation, proper documentation and legal resolution particularly important.
