Man Allegedly Killed in Yadgir Hotel Over Loan Dispute

Hyderabad Man Found Dead in Yadgir Hotel; Police Investigate Suspected Murder

YADGIR, May 2026: A 51-year-old man from Hyderabad was found dead in a private hotel in Yadgir in a case that police treated as a suspected murder.

The deceased was identified as Lakshman Rao, a resident of Vinayak Nagar in Hyderabad. According to reports, he had travelled to Yadgir along with his sister and brother-in-law and had stayed at a private hotel in the city.

The incident came to light after the hotel room reportedly remained closed for an extended period and the occupant did not respond to repeated attempts by hotel staff to contact him. When the room was opened, Lakshman Rao was found dead.

Initial suspicion reportedly centred on his sister and brother-in-law, who had been staying with him. Police began examining the circumstances surrounding the death, including the movements of the people who had stayed in the room and available evidence.

A separate report said police suspected that the man had been suffocated using a towel and pillows following a dispute connected to a substantial loan. According to that report, the family had been facing financial difficulties and disagreements had developed over repayment. These details were reported as allegations and remained subject to police investigation.

The case attracted attention in Yadgir because the incident occurred inside a city hotel and involved visitors from outside the district. Police investigation and forensic evidence are expected to establish the precise circumstances and responsibility for the death.

The incident also highlights the importance of proper hotel security measures, visitor records and prompt reporting when hotel staff notice unusual circumstances.
